The day after Christmas my teammates, Janice and Kara, threw an adoption shower for Theo and Tessa. It was the first adoption shower I had ever been to and the best shower of all that I had ever been to.
My friend, Rachel, made the yummy cake.
Kristalyn was still here, so she brought more of her famous cookies.
There were pictures of the kids on a PowerPoint.
Showers of Blessing:
Kara was in charge of the shower. She had never done that before, and admitted that she wasn't very fond of the games they often have at showers. Instead, she read quotes from my favorite book about adoption, and we all sang together. Later, Eden and I were surrounded by these precious women, while they talked about Theo and Tessa, about all of us uniting as a family. It was beautiful. That's what made it the best: the genuine love and care from everyone there, home baked goods (which are more difficult to make here), the willingness of Kara to step out of her comfort zone for our family, very meaningful quotes being read, singing, and lifting.
